A/R: KNUST ORGANIZES CHANCELLOR'S WEEK TO HONOR OTUMFUO
“The celebration of my 20yrs on the Golden Stool is essentially a wake-up call on traditional rules all over Ghana to work with government as nodes of continuity to improve the socio-economic impact and livelihood of the people within the communities and Ghana as a whole”,Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has said.
He said,chiefs and chieftaincy institution have since time immemorial to date been the ‘seat of government’ within our various traditional localities.

on Monday at the opening of the Chancellor’s Week organized by the Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The Chancellor’s week is a week long programme by the university to celebrate 20 years
Otumfuo’s of reign on the Golden stool as the Chancellor of the university.
The theme for the the 20th anniversary celebration is”Deepening our Cultural Heritage through Socio-Economic Development”.
“In our own small way,we assist our people to settle their disputes; we educate them on proper interpretation and application of our customary laws and practice and most importantly, we assist them to improve on their socioeconomic lives”
“Due to this firsthand relationship that exist between chiefs and the people, we are very much abreast with the needs and aspirations of the masses in Ghana,he said.
According to Otumfuo,this knowledge is a great tool that can be employed to assist central government to fashion out the right policies and strategies for the betterment of our nation.
Otumfuo assured to guard and protect the university as the Chancellor.
“As long as i remain the Asantehene and the Chancellor,I will endeavor to guard and protect the this university”
