PRINCIPAL OF ENT NURSING TRAINING COLLEGE KATH APPEAL FOR INFRASTRUCTURES TO ACCOMODATE ENOUGH STUDENTS
The Principal of the Ear,Nose and Throat Nursing School at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Kumasi ,Alhaji Abdul R. Shaben has called on all stakeholders in the health sector to assist the school in putting up a befitting infrastructure for the school.
He noted,teaching and learning has become challenging due to lack of class rooms and staffs accommodation.
Alhaji Abdul Shaban said this when addressing students and guardians at the 2nd Graduation and 4th Matriculation ceremony of the Ear,Nose and Throat Nursing school (ENT) in Kumasi,Ashanti Region.
He said,the school has acquired 10 acres of land at Adankwame to put up a hostel and class rooms facilities.
“So we will need the support of the
ministry of Health (MOH),NGOs and other philanthropists in putting up this project because the school can not admit enough students due to space”
I must admit that the number of ENT specialist nurses is still not enough for the country and there the need to train more to cover the whole country,he said.
The school since 2003,has train 361 ENT specialist nurses who are now working at the various hospitals in the country.
Fifty-six (56) students graduated whiles 71 students were admitted to the school out of 126 applications received by the school for 2018/2019 academic year due to lack of space.
