Musician Ebony Reigns has died at the age of 20 after her car reportedly collided with a bus in south western Ghana.
The Afrobeat and Dancehall performer – real name Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng – was driving to Accra following a trip to Sunyani with two friends.
The Ghanaian musician was rushed to Bechem Government Hospital, where she was treated but later died from her injuries.
Her two friends were also killed in the crash, while the driver of the bus is still being treated in hospital.
Reigns released her latest album, Bonyfied, in December last year, following on from the success of her 2015 record, Dancefloor.
The star was first discovered by musician and entrepreneur Bullet, a member of Ruff n Smooth, after she sent him a recording of her voice.
Fans took to Twitter to pay tribute to the young musician following news of her death.
One person wrote: “Ebony held us all spellbound. You didn’t have to like her craft. You didn’t have to adore her. You could just see her star shining. She was just meant for stardom & it was obvious. RIP Ebony Reigns. This hurts.”
Another posted: “So young, so pretty, so talented. I’m really having a hard time believing that this girl is gone she had so much potential #EbonyReigns.”
